With the increased fluctuation in the international price of gold recently, customers are turning to acquire and hold gold in an accumulation program to reduce risk. Beginning from this year, ICBC sees robust growth in offering services for customers to accumulate gold. By end-July, ICBC has 4,440,000 customers signing up gold accumulation program. Altogether they have bought 17.99 tons of gold, reported the press-centre of ICBC.

ICBC opened a new function for customers to redeem the accumulated Ruyi gold with less steps, no physical delivery of gold. The objective is to fuel the business growth and provide faster and more convenient services to all customers. The new service allows customers to check out the redemption price via Internet Banking and initiate the redemption request anytime online. To the customers, especially office workers, it is now very convenient to buy, hold and redeem Ruyi gold, right at home.

The next move of ICBC is to continue innovation and provide top services to customers, said an executive with ICBC. More attention will be paid on the offering of innovative service functions for customers to invest in precious metals, improve customer experience and create more value for customers through better services.
