Baosteel Improves Competitiveness through Management Revolution
OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2012. Nowadays, with low profit of ion & steel industry, how can Baosteel improve core competitiveness through management revolution? There is an old saying goes: We can learn from others’ past success.” Recently, leading cadres of Baosteel Co., Ltd learnt “Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination” from Haier in management revolution and innovation experience, using 4D system as platform, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
They discussed the central topic mentioned and finally formed a consensus that Baosteel can keep up with the marketing competition and achieve success in second revolution only by grasping market patterns, running along the market trend, setting customer-oriented operation mechanism and performing well on everything.
Originally, the new model of Haier, “Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination based on self-management” is a new kind of management mode which follows approaches of continuous study and innovation, keeping up with information and internet ages. And the result has gained top one of first prize of national enterprise management innovation achievement during 2012 National Conference on enterprise management innovation, which is the highest honor gained by China in enterprise management. China Enterprise Confederation has appealed that each enterprise should learn from innovative results of Haier, etc. and study from each other, forming an innovative atmosphere worldwide.

During the study of party committee central group in April, Baosteel offered fast respond with the topic as “Learn from Haier, Management Revolution and Innovation as ‘Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination’” by using 4D e-learning system. At the same time, the company motivated people as leaders (above company assistants), each top leader of party or politics, sales directors, people in charge of regional companies to attend exchanging study, deeply thinking based on topic and reality. 148 people among them have communicated in learning experience and working suggestion. In order to know the operational condition of “Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination” in practice, the departments of operational improvement and propaganda of Baosteel even went to Haier for field study. Otherwise, operational improvement department, sheet sales department and Baosteel International gave presentations separately as Learning Experience on Haier “Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination”, Thoughts and Response on Haier’s Innovative Management Mode and Construct New Advantages of Marketing in Low Profit Era.
Through exchange learning, leaders and people in charge of Baosteel have a deeper understanding on the situation & task faced. They think that the “Win-win Mode of Individual-goal Combination” is a reflection of customer-orientation in enterprise operation system.
