The Ministry of Defense is actively working towards a unified and clear vertical decision-making on the development of weapons and military equipment, taking them into service, serialization and repair. This was started by Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of Staff Volodymyr Mozharovsky during briefing in the Cabinet Building.

"Addressing of recovery of the technical condition of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be considered in conjunction with the development of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine", - Volodymyr Mozharovsky says.

He also said that according to Presidential Decree it was established the Committee for the reform and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the military-industrial complex, and by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine it was established an interdepartmental committee to restructure defense industry under the chairmanship of the Minister of Defense.

"The Ministry of Defense together with the Ministry of Economic Development and the concern "Ukroboronprom" are actively accumulating regulatory legislation" - Volodymyr Mozharovsky said.

In addition, the event started on restructuring and reforming the military-industrial complex to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the directions of the reform is to create vertically-integrated manufacturing facilities for weapons programs.

"This work has already begun. In addition, the Ministry of Defense continues to search for new approaches to maintenance and repair of arms and military equipment, - said Deputy Minister of Defense. – It is also worked out the introduction of the Armed Forces of the system maintenance and repair of arms and military equipment on a territorial basis. "

In particular, on the basis of enterprises "Ukroboronprom" will be a established a network of service centers, which will ensure the provision of a range of services from maintenance to major repair and disposal of weapons and military equipment.
