OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2012.   The Iraqi ministry of oil is preparing for a licensing round to (develop & produce Al-Nasiriya oil field and build Al-Nasiriya refinery) as a single complete project, and the qualified companies will be invited soon to this project.

It is worthy to mention that, the ministry of oil is aiming to launch the 5th licensing round for the exploratory areas with gas prospects only, considering that:-

1-    Choose the exploratory areas that have high and promising gas prospects.

2-    Make changes in the rules and contractual & economic conditions for the service contracts of the previous licensing rounds which will make the contract in this round completely different from the previous contracts between the ministry and the international companies.

The 5th licensing round will be announced soon after completing its demands.
