OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2012. POSCO ranked 2nd in the manufacturer sector and 1st in the steel industry sector in the `30 Best Places to Work in Korea` rankings selected by KMAC. POSCO received high scores for excellent vision, fair system (evaluation and compensation), and a happy culture, which were evaluation factors of a good company, ranking 2nd for three consecutive years, reported the press-centre of POSCO.

The Company especially maintained 1st place in the steel industry sector for five consecutive years based on relative dominance in all factors.

KMAC, to strengthen corporate competitiveness by presenting standards to be recognized as a `good, happy place to work,` developed the `K-GWPI (Korea Great Work Place Index)` and has been selecting the `30 Best Places to Work` in the manufacturing and service sectors, and the `Best Place to Work per Industry` since 2008.

The top 60 companies in the manufacturing and service sectors based on 2010 sales with more than 300 full-time employees, companies that received higher than average scores in the 2011 industry evaluation, as well as those recommended by HR specialists were evaluated.

Based on research, K-GWPI selected companies showed more than two times year-on-year growth compared to companies that were not selected. These companies present excellent future vision while members` efforts to achieve it are fairly recognized, forming a `good place to work` environment where happy corporate culture is brought together, leading to achieving sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom were each selected as the `Best Company to Work for in Korea` in the manufacturer and service industries respectively.
