AT&T Developer Program Opens Registration for DevLab by AT&T
OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2012. Registration has opened for DevLab by AT&T*, a one-day, hands-on programming workshop for developers, providing a technical deep dive into the latest services and tools for mobile app development. DevLab will take place September 25 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif. Developers can learn more and register at http://2012devlab.com/, reported the press-centre of AT&T.
Highlights for the day include introducing developers to AT&T’s new Speech API, part of the AT&T API Platform, and the AT&T Application Resource Optimizer (ARO) which analyzes mobile application efficiency, giving developers the ability to improve battery life and data usage.
AT&T’s Speech API enables developers to build apps and services that let customers use their voice to communicate with their smartphone, television and other digital devices. AT&T uses this capability in a variety of applications, such as mobile voice directory search and voice mail to text, among others.
AT&T Application Resource Optimizer (ARO) is a free diagnostic tool that helps developers enhance their mobile app's performance, speed, network impact, and battery utilization. ARO is already used by many developers to increase the productivity of their apps while providing their customers a better experience.
DevLab will make use of both instruction and lab time, featuring hands-on interaction with AT&T experts to walk developers through these services and tools step by step. In addition, sponsors will hold demonstrations of various mash-ups with the AT&T Speech API. At the end of the day, developers will network at a reception with experts and special guests.
“We are very excited to introduce DevLab to the developer community,” said Carlton Hill, vice president –device operations and developer services, AT&T Mobility. “It’s the perfect showcase to feature our cutting-edge technology services for mobile app development while providing an in-depth and fun environment for developers to dig in, learn, network and come away from the event with tools to take their applications to the next level.”
Early registration is currently open and is USD 60 and ends Aug. 31, with regular registration set at USD 90 until Sept. 21. After Sept. 21, registration will be USD 120.
