OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2012. In commissioning works on hydrogen station of “Poliom” Ltd. participate three representatives of company Wasserelektrolyse Hydrotecnik GmbH – Wolfgang Hug, engineer of chief-assembly, Nicolay Giz, engineer assistant, and Olivier Kunkel, specialist of control equipment, reported the press-centre of Titan. 

German and Omsk specialists should conduct commissioning works consisting of three stages: preparation of technological blocks, adjustment of control equipment systems and startup of the unit by blocks.

The unit consists from seven blocks: water preparation, electrolysis, scrubber, low pressure gas receiver, comprimer, purification and drying block. The most sophisticated blocks are those that consist from several pieces of equipment. Thus, electrolysis block consists from two electrolysers, each having 6 apparatuses.

Hydrogen station – unit on hydrogen production from water by way of electrolysis, (production of “Wasserelektrolyse” company). “Hydrogen is supplied to polymerisation and is used for regulation of molecular weight of polymer, – describes the role of the unit Vitaly Matveyev, head of production preparation section. – When propylene is polymerized into chain, consisting from molecules, the hydrogen serves for the chain rupture. The chain meets hydrogen, gets ruptured – and finished molecule of polypropylene occurs. Depending on required molecular weight of polymer, one conducts automatic dosage of hydrogen into process”.
