DTEK's Coal Supply Began to Bulgaria
OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. DTEK Trading have concluded a contract for coal supply in 2012-2013 to "Sviloza Thermal Power Station" AD (Svishtov, Bulgaria). The coal will be produced by DTEK companies.
The first batch of the low volatile coal has been shipped to Bulgaria this August, and the total supply by the end of 2012 will exceed 180 thousand tonnes. DTEK’s coal will go directly to Sviloza Thermal Power Station AD CHP in Svishtov (Bulgaria), which is one of the largest electricity and heat producers in Bulgaria.
‘It will be the first step in our strategic cooperation and will help fully satisfy the demand of Sviloza CHP for low volatile coal on the optimal market terms. DTEK itself produces the coal under the contract, and can guarantee its quality, reliability of supplies and price transparency’- representative of the DTEK’s Bulgarian partners Lubomir Stefanov.
Andrey Favorov, Commercial Director of DTEK, said: ‘DTEK’s coming to the Bulgarian market is an important stage in the Company strategy of entering European markets. We are certain that conclusion of contracts between the end consumer and coal producer will help both parties gain a competitive advantage and become an example of successful operation on Bulgarian market.
Some generating plants in Bulgaria were designed to run on Ukrainian low volatile coal, which offers DTEK great prospects for cooperation with many companies in the country. If a company can produce its own coal and guarantee its origin and quality, European consumers will rate it high.
We welcome dialogue and intend to build long-term and mutually beneficial relations, expanding our presence in the region’, he added.
