OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) announced that it has signed the launch services contract with Barcelona-based Galactic Suite, for sending the Spanish rover to the Moon to attempt to win the Google Lunar X prize, reported the press-centre of CGWIC.
 
According to the contract, the rover, developed by the Spanish industrial conglomerate led by Galactic Suite under the name of Barcelona Moon Team, will be launched by Long March 2C/CTS-2 (upper stage) launch vehicle from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) and inserted into the lunar transfer orbit in 2014.
 
The Long March 2C launch vehicle is developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC).
