OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. Liu Deshu, President of Sinochem Group, visited Sinochem Jilin Changshan Chemical Co., Ltd. (shortened as Sinochem Changshan), a subsidiary of Sinochem Group, during which he met with Sun Zhengcai and other local chief officials and attended the foundation laying ceremony of the reconstruction and expansion projects for Sinochem Changshan. Feng Zhibin, CEO of Sinofert Holdings Ltd., accompanied Liu Deshu and attended the above events, reported the press-centre of Sinochem.

President Liu Deshu met with Sun Zhengcai, Secretary of Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People’s Congress, discussing the issues including further cooperation.

Secretary Sun Zhengcai said that as one of the world’s top 500 enterprises, Sinochem Group had successively organized and implemented a batch of projects with large scales and good performance in Jilin Province in recent years, playing an active role in revitalizing local economy. He also wished that Sinochem Group would carry out in-depth cooperation with Jilin Province in wider fields leveraging its strength in capital, technology, management and market to achieve win-win progress.

According to Mr. Liu, the rapidly-developing Jilin Province will provide more opportunities for the development of Sinochem Group, which encourages Sinochem Group to enhance its cooperation with Jilin and make contributions to the local economic development.

On August 15, Mr. Liu attended the foundation laying ceremony of the reconstruction and expansion projects for energy conservation and consumption reduction of urea production facility (shortened to “the Project” hereafter) of Sinochem Changshan. The Project, with a construction period of two years and a total investment of RMB1.198 billion, is a key project listed in the development plan during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period in Jilin Province, an important step for Sinofert in its integration of the upstream, midstream and downstream resources, and also an opening initiative for Sinochem Changshan’s ”Third Long March”. After the project is finished and put into operation, Sinochem Changshan will have the capacity doubled, with an annual output of synthesis ammonia of 360 thousand tons, and the urea of 600 thousand tons.

The cost for urea per ton will drop sharply, and the efficiency will improve dramatically, thereby having a far-reaching impact on the leading role of Sinochem Changshan’s urea products in Jilin Province and its influence and competitiveness in the northeastern region.
Mr. Liu visited workers at the production line in Sinochem Changshan, and listened to their working reports. He expressed his requirements on strategic planning, engineering construction, research, innovation and production safety.

The visit of Mr. Liu further enhanced the communication between Sinochem Group and the governmental authorities in Jilin Province, laying a solid foundation for the in-depth cooperation between the two.
