Mauritanian Officials Inspect Highway Jobsite of 17MCC Group
OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. An official delegation of Mauritania paid a visit to the jobsite of the I Bidding Works under the Delta Highway Project on August 15, 2012. This works is contracted by the 17th China Metallurgical Construction Group (17MCC Group). The delegation members consisted of Minister for Labor of Mauritania Governor of Kiffa Province, councilor and major officials of the local government, reported the press-centre of MCC Group.
The Minister was debriefed by the Project Officer and the project staff on the labor utilization on site, as well as the labor protection under this project. Afterwards the delegation conducted a field visit and held a cordial discussion with the workers.
All the front-line employees have been provided with labor protection measures such as the gloves, the drinking water and the sunshade tents. Seeing this, the Minister smiled and said, as one of the key highway works of the country, the Delta Highway Project was of great significance to both China and Mauritania.
He hoped the contractor not only to focus on the project implementation, but also to pay attention to the livelihood, employment opportunity and the labor protection welfare of the local people. At the conclusion, the Minister wished that the highway under construction would be built into a road of livelihood expected by the people.
