OREANDA-NEWS.  August 28, 2012. During the second competition of development project 76 offers were selected at a sum of 1.22 bln. Leis. According to the Ministry of regional Development and Construction, 34 projects were selected from the Centre development region at a sum of679.7 mln. leis; from the North development region it was selected 18 projects with the total budget of 246 mln. leis; from the South development regin it was selected 15 projects with the budget of 290.9 mln. leis in total.

During 5 days the commission including representatives of the Ministry, State Office, the Ministries of Economy, Finance , Environment, and Transport and the Agency for Tourism is going to analyze the offers taking into account such criteria as contribution of the projects into the implementation of the branch strategies, development of weak areas, methodology of the projects, lives of the projects after the backing termination, co-investments, etc.

The projects approved will be backed from the National Fund for Regional development for 2013-2015. The second competition on regional development, launched on March, 27, 2012, was applied for by 208 seekers.
