OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2012. Over 500 cargo open wagons have been produced from the year beginning at Ekibastuz rail car building plant, reported the press-centre of KASE.

This investment project has been partially funded by Development Bank of Kazakhstan in 2009. The project Kazakhstan rail car building company total cost made up over USD56 million.

The plant has been put into operation in the middle of 2011. Under the project implementation have been constructed 3 launching platforms. The equipment delivery and construction of was provided with the financial support of Development Bank of Kazakhstan. Today the funding is being implemented at the expense of ATFBank.

From the moment of putting into operation the enterprise capacity increased by several times. In the current year it is planned to produce 1800 cargo wagons. As expected, in 2013 the plant will achieve the full capacity, i.e. 2500 cars a year. This will allow decreasing dependence of Kazakhstan railway cargo transportation on Russia and Ukraine. 170 new work places have been created at the plant.

The main consumer of the plant products is the largest domestic cargo transportation company JSC Kaztemirtrans.
