OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2012. The Republican Seismological Service Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan has been elected an associate member of the European Seismological Commission.

According to the center, Azerbaijan was elected a member of the organization within the framework of the General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission, held in Moscow.

The next meeting of the commission will be held in Istanbul on 19-24 August 2014, and within this event it is expected that Azerbaijan will be given status of a full member of the General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission.

At the meeting in Istanbul it will be suggested to conduct the next meeting of the Commission scheduled for 2016, in Baku.
