OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2012. In the first half-year of 2012 it was put into operation 1012 apartments at a total floor space of 129.4 thou. sq.m., 6.5% up as compared with the same period of 2011. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, a number of private detached houses put into operation at the expense of their owners equalled to 754 houses at a total floor space of 110.7 thou. sq.m., 12.4% down as compared with the same period of the last year.

It was 85.5% of a total amount of houses put into operation in the first half year of 2012 all around Moldova. In urban areas of the country in this period it was put into operation 674 apartments at a total floor space of 86.2 sq.m., 13.7% down as compared with the same period of 2011. In rural areas it was built 338 detached houses at a total floor space of 43.2 thou. sq.m., 12/1% up as compared with the same period of 2011.

In a total amount of housing put into operation, a share of that in rural areas declined from 72,.2% in January-June, 2011 to 66.6% in January-June, 2012. A share of housing in rural areas grew from 27.8% to 33.4%. The greatest amount of houses was put into operation in Chisinau and made up 601 apartments at a total floor space of 82.7, thou sq.m., 63.9% of atotal amount of houses put into operation all around Moldova.

In the first half-year of 2012 brining housing into service declined 13% as compared with the same period of 2011. In 2011, it was brought into services 4,1 thou, of units of housing at a total floor space of 477.7 thou. sq.m. in Moldova, which was 12.5% less than in 2010.
