Petrol Pump Price Up by 0,5 Lei in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2012. Two oil companies increased the petrol and diesel oil prices by 0.5 lei. The pump price for the most demanded petrol, A95, rose from 16.65 to 17.15 lei per one litre, and the diesel oil price grew from 15.65 to 16.15 lei for one litre.
The increase of the fuel price is prompted by a rise in the import price and the Moldovan leu's depreciation, experts said. The companies import petrol at 1,100 dollars at the border, and the diesel oil at 1,050 dollars, without taking into account the taxes and excise duties they pay. In early last June, the import price dropped to 906-920 dollars per one ton, against 1,000 dollars earlier.
Last week, the companies informed the National Agency for Regulation of Energy (ANRE) about the intention to increase the petrol and diesel oil prices. Some experts said that other companies postpone the rise in prices, as some of them meet relatively lower costs.
The last change of the petrol and diesel oil prices took place in June 2012, when the diesel oil and petrol cheapened by 0.2 lei. In 2012, the highest prices were recorded in late last March, when one litre of A 95 petrol cost 17.22-17.25 lei at the pump, and one litre of diesel oil - 16.25-16.30 lei.
