OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2012. Acceptance tests of 61-4472 double deck staff compartment passenger car with sleeping berths have been completed at Tver Carriage Works (TVZ, a part of JSC Transmashholding), as per Holding’s PR department.

HVAC systems, functionality of sanitary equipment and electric equipment have been validated, running and braking tests have been performed in the course of tests. Outcomes have proved car compliance with all current safety standards.

Life support system has been checked, and fire safety level has been assessed at the second test stage. Moreover, climatic and running test, as well we shock test shall be carried out.

Further, certification tests are anticipated; as per their results compliance certificate shall be granted, and serial production shall be commenced.

The car is designated for transportation of 50 passengers, it is equipped with a special compartment for disabled passenger and accompanying person, with a sleeping berth for disabled passenger and special wheelchair space preventing its movement or overturning at car starting and braking.

The Staff car is equipped with car-to-car communication system, public address system and control tools – car system control panel, fire alarm and fire extinguishing control unit, antiskid electronic block and network adapter installed on the panel.

In December 2010, Tver Carriage Works and JSC RZD signed supply contract for double-deck coaches. In accordance with this contract, in 2013, TVZ shall supply for Russian railways 50 double-deck coaches: 4 staff compartment cars (61-4472 model), 4 restaurant cars and 42 cars of 61-4465 models – 38 four-bed compartment cars and 4 two-bed compartment cars. They shall form two trainsets to be operated at route Moscow-Adler, including transportation of participants and guest of 2014 Olympic Games.

Simultaneously with staff compartment car testing, design documents for 61-4465 model car (with two-bed compartment) is being prepared for production launch, and building of pilot sample of 61-4473 double-deck restaurant car is in the process at Tver Carriage Works.
