OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2012. UTair Aviation held its fifth annual “Visiting UTair” airshow at Plekhanovo Airport in Tyumen. The airshow was aimed at promoting air transport and aviation careers among to the regional population.
Visitors were presented with a diverse program, including acrobatics and parachute demonstrations performed by Tyumen and Ishim DOSAAF paratroopers. The airshow also featured excursion flights aboard Antonov An-2 and Mil Mi-8 aircraft in which the highly trained crews demonstrated the unique operational capacities of Mi-8 helicopter: a demonstration flight using firefighting equipment to collect and discharge water as well as a practice landing of a search and rescue team. Guests of the airshow were able to see AS-355, AS-350, BO-105 and Robinson R-44 helicopters and SK-12 Orion amphibious aircraft. Many UTair aircraft were on display with access to the cabins.
Spectators had an opportunity to view Boeing 737, Tupolev Tu-134, CRJ-200, ATR-42, Antonov An-74, An-26 and An-2 aircraft.
More than 20,000 visitors attended the “Visiting UTair” airship and more than 700 took advantage of the demonstration flights.
