OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2012. According to Russian national air transport transparency mediator Transport Clearing House, UTair Aviation (excluding affiliate companies) transported 3,570,805 passengers in the Ural Federal District in the first 6 months of 2012, 51% more than for the same period in 2011. The figure is double the increase than for all other airlines operating in the region.

UTair operates 47 back-to-back flights from the cities of the region, including 20 flights within Ural. In addition, UTair affiliate airlines and helicopter companies also perform considerable flight operations in the region, which is one of Russia’s largest and comprises about 10% of Russian territory. UTair activities are a positive economic force in the region and well regarded by local residents and authorities.

UTair Aviation complies with the law and maintains strong ties with local government and transport authorities. The airline is continuously working to improve its safety management system, to analyze and forecast risks and holds a proactive posture to performance improvement. According to analytical data, UTair’s reserve factor, calculated according to international standards (the number of passengers carried per year per victim) for the period of 1997-2011 almost three times surpasses world average (ICAO statistics) and 8 times average for Russian civil aviation.
