OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. Vega Telecommunications Group joined AMS-IX, one of the largest Internet exchange points located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Participation in the project will enable the group to exchange traffic with more than 500 AMS-IX participants on the basis of peering agreements.

AMS-IX offers Internet service providers and other Internet-related parties interconnection and traffic exchange services as well as neutral infrastructure to place equipment through direct bilateral agreements. The AMS-IX platform has ten direct access points in Amsterdam datacentres and its MPLS/VPLS infrastructure is highly resilient and redundant with carrier grade service levels.  Among the AMS-IX participants are Internet service providers, content providers, hosting companies and carriers, corporate, scientific and social networks.
