Local businesses are also being encouraged to attend to find out about any possible opportunities that may arise through the development, with SSE committed to using local suppliers wherever possible.

Wednesday 29 August between 2pm and 8pm
Thursday 30 August between 2pm and 8pm
Kirstanne McDowall, Community Liaison Manager for Langhope Rig stated:
“We are looking forward to informing local residents and businesses of our plans for the Langhope Rig wind farm before the construction phase; in particular to provide insight into our traffic management plan. We will also provide details of our community investment package, which we expect to be worth at least Ј2m over the 25 year lifetime of the windfarm.
“We hope local businesses will also attend the events to tell us about themselves and find out about any opportunities that may arise during the construction phase of the wind farm. During construction of our Toddleburn and Carcant sites in the Scottish Borders, a significant amount was spent on local and regional contractors, local accommodation and service providers, and we are determined to ensure local businesses take advantage of the economic opportunities Langhope Rig will bring to the area.”
