OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. The exercise of options on the BOVESPA Index (Ibovespa) generated BRL 6.66 billion today, with 115,580 contracts traded. Of the volume exercised, BRL 1.96 billion was in put options and BRL 4.69 billion in call options.

The Ibovespa index ended the session 0.18% higher at 58,189.28 points. 

The contracts with the largest volumes were:

The series at 58,000 points totaled BRL 1.52 billion in call options;

The series at 56,000 points totaled BRL 1.38 billion in call options;

The series at 60,000 points totaled BRL 734.40 million in put options;

The series at 62,000 points totaled BRL 629.92 million in put options;

The series at 54,000 points totaled BRL 557.82 million in call options.
