Tata Power Inaugurates Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting System

Rooftop rainwater harvesting system is a process where rainwater is collected over building roofs and sheds to be utilised later. The water is then sent for purification, where it passes through a filtering process and is later percolated in tanks to be used. At Power House No 6, rooftop rainwater harvesting systems have been set up at the cooling water pump house and attached buildings. The total catchment area is 795 sq m.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Kudalkar said, “Rain water harvesting is emerging as a top priority for all corporate houses as well as for common citizens. Our ground water reserve is shrinking every day and fresh water becomes more precious due to increasing demand. Tata Power, being a front-runner, has always emphasised the need of water conservation and has been implementing such initiatives wherever possible.”
