Free Slag Discharge Will Come True in TISCO
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. The contract signing with three Japanese corporations drew TISCO’s circular economy system in aspect of slag reusing field to a satisfactory full stop. All the slag generated in TISCO’s production process will be completely reused and the waste discharge will come to an end, reported the press-centre of TISCO.
In recent years, TISCO has invested a series of project aiming at “free slag discharge”. Two former slag treatment lines were transformed, two super fine production lines were installed with one of them had already reached designed capacity; a new slag reusing project cooperated with HARSCO of America is under construction at present.
The first phase of slag super fine project was put into production in May of 2011 with an annual output of 1.2 million ton. The second phase project owns worldwide biggest super fine vertical mill whose production capacity per hour is 225 tons and annual super fine capacity is 1.7 million tons.
HARSCO slag rerusing project is expected to treat 1 million tons of stainless steel slag and 0.5 million tons of carbon steel slag per year. It include five production lines: stainless steel tail slag wet seperation line, stainless steel tail slag dry and fertilizer line, carbon steel tail slag crusher and super fine production line, road base material production line, and steel – making auxilary material production line. The main products include stainless steel scrap, slag fertilizer, cement mixture material, road base material, super fine, and auxilary material for steel making.
The revamping of No. 1 slag line was launched in February of 2012 and had finished and put into production The revamping of No.2 slag line is under pressing construction. After reaching designed capacity, the two lines will be able to treat 1.4 million tons of slag every year.
At the same time, the Oxygen shaft furnace technology is successfully applied to recycle the high grade iron with high Cr and Ni from stainless steel slag. The dust and carbon steel slag are also smelt into hot metal to charge into the steel making funace. The three sets of Oxygen shaft furnace own a total capability of treating 450,000 tons of sludge with iron and recycling 320,000 tons of metal, equivalent to the production of a iron ore mine with an annual capacity of 2 million ton.
During the period of “twelfth-five”, after above mentioned projects reach their designed capacity, TISCO will leadingly become an enterprise with “free-discharge”.
