Arcelormittal.com Wins Gold
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. Arcelormittal.com has won a top industry award. The website, re-launched in February 2012, was awarded a gold Stevie Award in the metals and mining category in the Stevie 2012 International Business Awards, reported the press-centre of Arcelormittal.
Arcelormittal.com beat mining company Anglo American, who were last year’s category winners.
Now in their tenth year the awards, which are given in gold, silver and bronze, are among the most coveted in the business world. Stevie Award finalists must score higher than eight out of 10 on all judging criteria to take home a gold award. The judging panel for the awards includes up to 200 top global business executives, including CFOs, CEOs and chairmen.
Michael P. Gallagher, an American businessman, conceived the idea for the Stevie Awards as a way of recognising good business leaders and "restoring public confidence and investor trust" in the wake of the 2001 Enron scandal.
