Dr. Donna Smith Joins Arizona Oncology Gynecologic Medical Team
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. Donna Smith, M.D., a board certified gynecologic oncologist, has joined Arizona Oncology, effective August 1. Dr. Smith specializes in the treatment of cervical, endometrial, ovarian, uterine and vulvar cancers and will be practicing with Arizona Oncology’s gynecological physicians Drs. Snehal Bhoola, Matthew Borst, Mike Janicek and Shana Wingo, reported the press-centre of McKesson.
Before joining Arizona Oncology, Dr. Smith served as associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago. While there, she was the associate residency program coordinator and served on the Robotic Surgical Committee, Cancer Care Committee and Surgical Pathology Committee. Her Loyola accomplishments include serving as a principal investigator for the National Cancer Institute Gynecologic Group Protocols, which includes ovarian, endometrial, cervical and vulvar procedures. Chicago Magazine named Dr. Smith one of Chicago’s Top Docs for more than ten years, and US News and World Report recognized her as one of America’s Top Physicians.
Prior to her appointment at Loyola, Dr. Smith was an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston’s Tufts University Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, completed her internship and residency training in gynecology and obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and completed her fellowship in gynecology oncology at the Georgetown University Medicine Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Smith’s professional affiliations include the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
