OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. This is the greatest sum of investments made for the last 5 years, the Ministry of economy states. As oft the end of the 1 half-year of 2012, a total amount of investments made in FEZ ever has accounted for USD151.1 mln., 8/9% up as compared with the same period of 2011.

The greatest investments fell to Expo-Business Chisinau and amounted to 33.75 of a total sum of money invested in all FEZ of Moldova. Then follows Ungheni-Business, which was invested in 25.2% of a total amount of investments. As of the end of the first-half-year of 2012 the total amount of investments ever attracted in Expo-Business Chisinau made up USD 50.9 mln.

It was equla to USD 38 mln. in Ungheni-business; USD 18.4 mln. in Balti, USD 15,1 mln. in FEZ of Taraclia, USD 13 mln., in FEZ of Tvardita, USD 12,4 mln in FEZ of Vulcanesti and \\$3,3 mln. in Otaci-Business. There are 7 free economic zones in Moldova: Expo-business Chisniau, Ungheni-Business, Balti, Taraclia, Tvardita, Vulcanesti and Otaci-Business.

As of July, 1, it has been registered 166 residents in them, with their biggest number being registered in Expo-business Chisinau (60 residents) and Ungeni-business (37). A total number of employees in free economic zones amounts to 6035. Almost 435 of them ore 2611 individuals are employed in FEZ of Balti whereas Ungeni-business gives jobs to 1833 workers.
