In the first half-year of 2012 tourist services were rendered to79,6 thou. people in Moldova, 11.9% up as compared with the same period of the last year.  According to the National bureau of Statistics, about 74% of services fell to outbound tourism. Internal and inbound torusim embraced closed to one foruth of all services rendered by travel agencies.

In the first half-year of 2012 via travel agencies 5.07 thou of foreign tourist visited Moldova, 12.6% up as compared with the same period of the last year . Most of them come to Moldova from Russia (20.7%); Romania (15.3%), Germany (10.4%), Turkey (7.8%), Italy (5.1%), the USA (4.5%), Bulgaria (4.1%), Ukraine (3.9%). About 49% of foreign tourists were in Moldova on business, 46.8% visited our country for holidays and 4.1% for cure. In the first half-year of 2012 via travel agencies 58.8 thou of Modlovan tourist left Moldova, 14.9% up as compared with the same period of the last year.

Over 96% of them travelled for holidays. The most popular destinatins were Bulgaria (33.9%), Turkey (33.3%), Romania (11.8%), Ukraine (5.1%), Greece (4.1%), Egypt (2.6%) and UAE (1.1%).

A number of internal tourists increased 1.8% as compared with the like period of 2011 and made up 15,6 thou. people. Most internal excursions were organized by travel agencies and tour operators of Chisinau ((37.7%), and regions of development Center (31.4%) and South (22.6%).
