OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2012. Olympus Imaging Corporation (President: Haruo Ogawa) is pleased to announce that two Olympus' digital cameras have received 2012-2013 EISA Awards. The "OLYMPUS Tough TG-1" Compact Digital Camera cited as the best "European All Weather Camera 2012-2013", and the "OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5" a new style of interchangeable-lens digital camera also won the "European Compact System Camera 2012-2013" award.

The European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA) is an organization representing 50 leading camera, imaging and audio magazines in 20 European countries. Each year it selects outstanding products and technologies from a wide spectrum of audiovisual product categories.

The new generation system camera, the OLYMPUS OM-D, features a compact, lightweight design that's fully compliant with the Micro Four Thirds System standard like the popular PEN Series models, Whereas the PEN Series inherited the convenience, simplicity, and high image quality offered by the PEN Series in the film age, the OLYMPUS OM-D has inherited the tradition of a true system SLR from the OM Series. The OLYMPUS OM-D is designed for serious camera buffs who want to make full use of interchangeable lenses and shoot photographic masterpieces by looking into the viewfinder, without having to worry about the weather or environmental conditions.
