KazMunaiGas Project on Construction of Shipbuilding Yard Approved
OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2012. National Company KazMunaiGas informed that it received positive conclusion of the government expertise on the feasibility study of Project "Construction of Shipbuilding Yard in Kuryk village", reported the press-centre of KASE.
The construction of Shipbuilding Yard in Kuryk village is being implemented under the government program on forced industrial and innovative development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014.
The project is being implemented jointly with Italian Company Eni, which signed an agreement on November 5, 2009, and is managed by LLP Board of Constructed Enterprises KMG - 100% subsidiary of NC KazMunaiGas.
Eni funds development of the feasibility study and project documents and will participate in construction financing. The designing will be implemented with involvement of Kazakhstan organizations, the executors will be selected by December 2012.
Reference: shipbuilding yard will repair and maintain ships of various types up to 70 units a year, and will construct ships of 15 thousand tons displacement (tankers, dry cargo ships, barges, service vessels). 500 people will be involved during the construction period and 600 people during exploitation. According to the government expertise the project total cost makes up KZT42,633 bn.
