OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2012. An amount of building and assembly works made up 1 bln. 730.8 mln. leis in the first half-year in Moldova, 2% down as compared with the same period of 2011. According to the National Bureau o Statistics, most of the works were fulfilled by economic agents of private form of ownership.

They made a sum of 1 bln. 400.2 mln. leis that is 80.9% of a total volume of works, 2.7% down as compared with January-June, 2011. In the first half-year of 2012, construction of new houses was dominant.

They were built at a sum of 898 mln. leis, 1.7% down as compared with the same period of 2011 and 56.1% of a total volume of the works fulfilled within the reporting period. Overhaul and maintenance works made 41.6% of a total volume of building works of this period at a sum of 801.1 mln. leis.

An amount of overhaul works decreased 3.8% to 292.8 mln. leis whereas an amount of maintenance works increased 1.4% to 508.3 mln. leis. A volume of building and assembly works grew 7.5% to 793.5 mln. leis in engeniring constructions and 8.8% to 513.7 mln. leis in residential houses.

A volume of non-residential construction fell 23.1% to 391.9 mln. leis.
