OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2012. “Uzbekenergo” State Joint stock company held a press conference on “Technical and technological modernisation in the power industry, rational use of new capacities, generated on the basis of foreign investments and renewable sources of energy” at the National press centre. The issues relating to prospective directions of developing power industry of the country was discussed during the event.

It was noted that the power and coal industries are the most important structural units of the national economy. Adoption of innovative technologies and renewable sources of energy can increase saving of resources and reduce negative impact to the environment.

Production volume for the first half of 2012 in the sphere constituted 100,2 per cents. 21,3 bln kimowatt-hours of electricity was supplied to customers, production exports rose to 147,5 percents. Electricity was supplied to the neighbouring countries on direct contracts, services in conducting project feasibility and construction and assembly works were rendered.

New capacities are being generated on the basis of foreign direct investments. At present 35 investment projects are under implementation, where in the first half of 2012 capital investments plan was accomplished by 100,1 per cent.

One of the biggest investment projects under implementation is at the Navoi thermal power plant. Installation works for the project of construction of gas seperator pump unit at the Navoi thermal power plant has been completed.

Introduction and development of renewable sources of energy is a priority task in all developed countries of the world. It is not a secret that world hydrocarbon resources are depleting, which makes utilisation of renewable sources of energy a critical issue. Renewable energy not only can diversify supplies of extracted fuel, but in the future can substite them.

Deputy chairmen of the Board of “Uzbekenergo” SJSC R.Raimov and A. Fayziev spoke about the issues of use of renewable sources of energy in supplying electricity to customers and priority taks of construction of solar power plants in our country, technical and technological renovation of the power industry and accomplished results in this direction.

It was undersored that development and implementation of alternative energy projects are one the priorities of the company.

A presentation of new capacities of the software product on distributing and accounting of the electricity to the customers (PK “Electrouchet”) was also held . This software product has been implemented in Tashkent since this March. Starting from the second half of 2012 the product will be used in other regions as well.
