OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2012. Within framework of the Sea Launch program from the floating platform 'Odyssey', which is located on the equator in the Pacific Ocean, has successfully been launched the Zenit-3SL space rocket with American spacecraft Intelsat 21.

 The sputnik is put into a geostationary orbit with record precision. The start has been performed by the Sea Launch international consortium.

The launch vehicle Zenith is designed by the State Enterprise Design Bureau Southern and manufactured by the State Enterprise Production Association Southern Machine-Building Plant in cooperation with Russian and Ukrainian enterprises.

The spacecraft Intelsat 21 is intended to provide video information services as well as service of mobile communications in Latin America.

The specified launch has become the thirty-third launching the Zenit-3SL space rocket within the framework of Sea Launch program and the second - in 2012.
