Green Space of Shanghai Port Passenger Center Formally Opened
OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2012. The green space of Shanghai Port International Passenger Center (shortened to Shanghai International Passenger Center), which was invested in and developed by Franshion Properties, a subsidiary of Sinochem Group listed in Hong Kong, formally opened, with an area of over 64,000m2, reported the press-centre of Sinochem.
The Center is located in the core region of the Huangpu River, adjacent to Small Lujiazui to the south across the Huangpu River. With a length of about 880m along the river, the Center is the largest area to be opened publically in the core region of Huangpu River in recent years, also making it the best place to enjoy the scenery along the Huangpu River.
Wu Qing, Mayor of Hongkou District, said that, as a public open space in the core region by the riverside of Huangpu River, the green space at the North Bund serves not only as a recreational area for citizens and tourists, but also the business area of the North Bund. Hopefully it can assist the North Bund in improving the business environment and ability level and exhibit a new image of the core functional area of Shanghai.
In 2006, Riverside Green Spaces at Dongchang, Pudong and at Zhiyang, North Bund, constructed by Franshion Properties, previously served as demonstration areas for showing the construction and development of the Shanghai Riverside. Once opened to the public, the spaces were highly praised.
