OREANDA-NEWS.  August 17, 2012. All large oil product importers and sellers of Moldova have announced their intention to raise fuel prices by about 0.3-0.6 leis per litre, Victor Parlicov, Director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency informs.

The prices may increase 0.4 to 0.8 leis, some sources say. Main reasons of the increase are said to be higher prices for them in international markets and a change of the MDL exchange rate against USD. Formally, oil product importers may raise the prices for petrol and diesel as early as now because they have just to inform the National Energy Regulatory Agency about their intention and are not required any special permission.

However, the prices at filling stations have remained stable yet. The price for Ai-95, offered by major importers, fluctuates from 16.65 leis to to 16.79 per liter; the price for diesel is 15.67 to 15.74 leis per liter. The prices for petrol and diesel changed in June last time. They were brought down several times at a sum of 10 t0 30 bans per liter due to a decline in oil prices in international markets.
