OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2012. OJSC Nordea Bank will take part in the All-Russia Financial Awareness Day to be held together with a Russian ‘professional holiday’ called Day of Financiers to be marked on September 8. On September 7-8 in educational institutions all over Russia financial experts will hold lectures in order to attract public attention to a need to boost the level of financial knowledge among youngsters, reported the press-centre of Nordea Bank.

More than 20 employees of OJSC Nordea Bank will take part in the All-Russia Financial Awareness Day as lecturers. They will give lectures in high schools, colleges and universities in Moscow and outside the Russian capital. Key matters to be discussed with students are personal financial plans, banks and bank products, core investment principals, etc.

In 2011 the All-Russia Financial Awareness Day was held in more than 70 constituent regions of Russia (including Moscow, St Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Samara, etc.) with participation of more than 250 financial experts. This year the campaign is expected to be of a larger scale: senior managers and ordinary employees of banks, exchanges, brokerage houses, audit and appraisal firms as well as investment companies, mutual funds, rating agencies, pension funds and Russian fiscal and monetary authorities will act as lecturers.

‘We are glad to take part in this socially important event. To a large extent social and economic development of the country depends on the level of financial knowledge of our citizens. We know that out common goal is to raise financial awareness of school, college and university students by inuring financial planning skills to the young generation. Moreover, such lectures will help many high school students to choose their future trade. As per university students, they will get some experience in communicating with participants in the financial markets,’ said Igor Bulantsev, Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC Nordea Bank.
