BEA Extends Mobile Transaction Capability to All iPhone Users
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2012. The Bank of East Asia (“BEA”) announces that it has extended the transaction capability of the BEA iPhone App so that even non-BEA customers can conduct specified transactions quickly and conveniently, reported the press-centre of BEA.
This value-added feature has been created by utilising the JETCO Mobile Payment Gateway to facilitate credit card payments. BEA is the first bank in Hong Kong to offer such flexibility to non-customers of the Bank, and the new function will first be introduced for enrolment in Travel Protection Insurance plans via the BEA iPhone App.
Any iPhone user who downloads the BEA iPhone App can enrol in a Travel Protection Insurance plan with just a few taps of the screen. The process does not require the user to log in to a mobile banking account, and payment can be settled instantly using a VISA or MasterCard credit card.
Travellers can obtain insurance any time before they begin the outbound immigration procedure. Applicants will receive an SMS that includes their insurance certificate number, details about the insured period, and the Blue Cross Worldwide Emergency Services hotline number. The certificate of insurance will be sent to the registered email account within one day. The Travel Protection Insurance plan can come into effect as soon as the applicant has confirmed the application and settled payment. This is particularly convenient for customers who forget to take out travel insurance until the last minute, or who do not have time to purchase travel insurance policies through other channels before they begin their journey.
From now until 31st October, 2012, all successful Travel Protection Insurance applicants – including BEA and non-BEA customers – will receive a 35% premium discount when enrolling via the BEA iPhone App. The first 100 successful applicants will also receive a HK\\$25 Starbucks Gift Certificate.
Customers can also use the BEA iPhone App to access insurance information, including benefits/coverage, premium tables, and the latest insurance offers.
