OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2012. In the first half of 2012 China produced 7.08 million tons of stainless steel, an increase of 5.25 percent from a year earlier.

China imported 387,900 tons of stainless steel during the period, down 15.4 percent while it exported 1.01 million tons of stainless steel, down 9.19 percent.

Domestic consumption of stainless steel stood at 5.61 million tons, up 6.88 percent.
