OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2012. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko believes the Cabinet will not allow an increase in gas prices for households and district heating. He stated this at a press conference at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

"There will be no rise in prices for households and utility companies, and that's the whole story," said Sergiy Tigipko. According to Vice Prime Minister, if in future the Government goes on increasing gas prices, one will develop special compensation arrangements for the poorest population, but the rich will be paying full price.

The Vice Prime Minister also stressed the Government would continue improving the system of subsidies that would enable most Ukrainian pay for gas as much as before.

"We understand we cannot leave people face to face with high gas prices. Despite the fact that it for Ukraine - almost the most expensive in the world," said Sergiy Tigipko.
