SEB Reports on Life Insurance Results in First 7 Months
OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2012. In the first seven months of the year, indemnities disbursed to clients of SEB Elu- ja Pensionikindlustus increased by as much as 15% compared to the same period in 2011: this year, the insurance company has disbursed 546 000 euros in indemnities on 288 loss assessments. It has to be pointed out that the summer period has brought with it an increase in the number of occupational and also traffic accidents, reported the press-centre of SEB.
According to Indrek Holst, Chairman of the Management Board at SEB Elu- ja Pensionikindlustus, people are increasingly realising that, besides the car, their family also needs protection against a decrease in earnings due accidents or even the death of the adults. Indemnity paid by the insurance company helps both keep the family home and make up any shortfall caused in the family budget by an accident.
At the same time, the number of rejected indemnity claims has decreased. All in all, seven indemnity applications, just 2.4% of all applications, were rejected. It is very important for a customer to understand, when entering into a contract for life insurance, what kind of insurance coverage is needed, what is included within insurance coverage and what the exclusions are. An example might be insured events caused by drunkenness or the consumption of other drugs, which are accordingly rejected for indemnity disbursement.
