OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2012. The Government will continue to implement programs to increase domestic production of coal. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during a visit to Shostka State factory "Impulse" in Sumy region.

"We have decided to develop a coal mining. This is a very difficult decision, it requires huge investments, many years, it's low profitability. So we have to invest large sums of money, and get them back we would in 20 years. But we have not another way. We will increase production of coal ", - said Mykola Azarov.

The Prime Minister recalled that, in connection with ultra-high price of Russian gas Ukraine transfer power units from gas to coal. Accordingly, the Head of the Government, we should extract more coal.

He added that after the start of the program, Ukraine has increased its coal production by 4 million tons

Recall that the state bank of China is ready to grant Ukraine a loan of USD 3.656 billion for the project to replace Russian gas to Ukrainian coal.
