OREANDA-NEWS. August 9, 2012. Two LIEBHERR STS gantry cranes were put into operation in Commercial Port of Vladivostok.

STS cranes (40t SWL, 40 moves per hour) have increased terminal container handling equipment fleet at Vladivostok Container Terminal (Berths 14-15).

It was first m/v "Kapitan Afanasyev" operating on Korea Soviet Direct Line (Busan-Vladivostok) that was handled by STS cranes. 1,160 TEU were unloaded and 957 TEU were loaded on ship.

STS cranes were manufactured by Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd in Killarney, Ireland. The cranes were delivered “flat pack” aboard specialized ship to Commercial Port of Vladivostok.
