Zhanjiang (Shanghai) investment orientation meeting was held in Dongjiao State Guest Hotel, Baosteel and Zhanjiang municipal government pledged on the meeting that they would make every effort to build Zhanjiang green steel production base. Xu Lejiang , President of Baosteel, Wang Zhongbing , Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Zhanjiang municipality, Zhao Zhouli, Vice president of Baosteel and Chairman of Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, Shen Genghong , General Manager of Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, Yao Xin, Vice Director of Shanghai Government Cooperation and Exchange Office, principals of relevant departments of Zhanjiang and Baosteel, and more than 200 merchant representatives home and abroad have attended the meeting, reported the press-centre of Baosteel. 

Zhanjiang iron & steel project is the key to the realization of Baosteel strategy - "two corners and one side", it is also the main battlefield of Baosteel's second pioneering undertaking. The sooner the project is put into operation will lay a solid foundation for the success of Baosteel's pearl river delta strategy, and contribute to the economic development of Zhanjiang area. At present, the main technological scheme of Baosteel zhanjiang steel project has been basicly confirmed, the scientific research is completed, and is now carrying out the preliminary design work with the finish of preliminary design review on blast furnace project and steelmaking project.

The plans of centralized purchase on procurement has already been completed, and the first batch of 122 online equipment biddings and tender plans have been finished and started on-line. The construction plan of land leveling the ground, dredging and cofferdam reclamation work has been basically completed. Up to now, accumulatively dig fill in the earth is about 32 million cubic meters, dig filling sand about 10 million cubic meters, primary and secondary roads in the subgrade construction about 38 kilometers, the construction and the water pipe construction about 19 kilometers, electricity aerial construction about 36 kilometers, which has preliminary already formed to meet the site construction of water, electricity, roads and drainage conditions and the construction materials and equipment for loading and unloading of heavy cargo wharf and sand stone wharf project has been completed and put into operation condition. 300000 tons of bulk cargo wharf engineering was started construction, and pipe pile was completed late in last year, part of the approach has also brokethrough in April. 350000 kw self-provided power plant projects with two units main building foundation construction, two boilers foundation construction was promoted according to the node. In addition, to meet the needs of training and living conditions of the East production, supporting projects was also under construction.

Since May 31st this year, Zhanjiang iron and steel projects hit the pile, Baosteel handed at the site to intensify mass of piling construction, preparation of pile type and technical scheme optimization. On the other hand, this was to construction scheme of optimization and adjustment in Shanghai, as well as Baosteel as the main body of investment needed to perform the procedure work. In addition, institution-building and operation of institutional personnel adjustments were carried out.

Zhao Zhouli addressed that with efforts and supports, Baosteel-Zhanjiang Iron&Steel Project will be the most efficient green steel production base. The eco-industrial park for the project will be green manufacturing, resource-saving and environmental-friendly, which sets a model for the iron&steel industry on circular economy and environmental protection.

Wang Zhongbing introduced the development of Zhanjiang in geography, history, culture and the economic construction. He said that the Zhanjiang government will provide basic services for the Baosteel-Zhanjiang Iron&Steel Project to build good investment environment and green steel production base. Meanwhile, he welcomed other industries to invest in Zhanjiang and participate in the construction of Baosteel-Zhanjiang Iron&Steel Project.

In the investment consulting afterwards, customers consulted and discussed with some relevant departments of Baosteel and of Zhanjiang municipal government about the investment policy, tender- invitation focuses and infrastructures, etc. Many customers have strong intention to participate in the supporting industries of Baosteel-Zhanjiang Iron&Steel Project.
