Production of Electricity Decreased by 5.5% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2012. As it was informed by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, own electricity generating capacity covered only 25% of country electricity needs during this period.
According to ANRE, in January-June 2012 electricity distribution companies purchased from external suppliers 1 billion 522.7 million kW / h of electricity, up 3.7% over the same period last year. In general, electricity distribution companies in Moldova in the I half of 2012 bought from local and foreign manufacturers 1 billion 990 million kW / h of electricity, which is 1.4% more than the same period last year.
Specifically, RED Nord acquired in January-June 2012 approximately 333.1 million kW / h of electricity (+0.4% compared to the same period in 2011), RED Nord-Vest - 175,5 млн . kW / h of electricity (+3.1%), the company RED Union Fenosa - 1 billion 481.4 million kW / h of electricity (+1.4%).
It should be noted that Moldova (without Transnistria region) traditionally produces with its own generating facilities (HEPS-1, HEPS-2, TPP-Nord, Kostesti HEPS) not more than a third of its required electricity. The missing volumes are purchased under existing contracts from the Moldovan Power Station, as well as "Power DCT-Trade", part of the largest Ukrainian private energy company DTEK.
