OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2012. APEC Transportation Working Group held the 36th session in St Petersburg as part of 2012 chairmanship of the Russian Federation at Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), comprising Deputy Head of the Department for Control over Transport and Communications, Svetlana Zinovyeva, and an advisor to the Department for Control over Transport and Communications, Alexei Gorlinsky, was actively engaged in the event, particularly, in the work of expert groups and workshops.

APEC member-economies showed a considerable interest toward a FAS initiative to provide non-discriminatory access to seaport infrastructure facilities and competitive development of related sectors. The main idea is to facilitate freer movement of goods and services in Asian-Pacific region and employ Russia’s transport potential to support integration in the APEC space.

The initiative will be revised in more detail through FAS cooperation with APEC Working Groups.
