ORLEN Lietuva Invites to Discover Lithuanian Heritage
OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2012. As this year in Lithuania is marked as the Year of Museums, acting on the initiative of ORLEN Lietuva, the Lithuanian National Commission for UNESCO together with the Association of Lithuanian Museums have issued a unique map of Lithuania which presents a significant part of the Lithuania’s cultural and natural heritage, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.
The 2012-2013 map ‘Lietuva UNESCO. Lietuvos muziejai’ presents all the UNESCO heritage sites in Lithuania, also 138 Lithuanian museums classified under Lithuania’s ethnical regions as well as the most significant facts about each of them.
Starting from 1 August, the map ‘Lietuva UNESCO. Lietuvos muziejai’ will be available at the UNESCO office in Vilnius, Lithuanian museums and at all ORLEN filling stations in Lithuania.
‘Focus on Lithuanian cultural heritage is a long-lasting commitment by ORLEN Lietuva and an integral part of the Company’s social responsibility. We believe that the map will encourage people to get to know the most significant sites of the Lithuania’s cultural, historic and natural heritage’, said ORLEN Lietuva General Director Ireneusz Fafara.
The map with Lithuania’s cultural and natural heritage itineraries is the second project dedicated for the Year of Museums which ORLEN Lietuva is involved in. When marking the Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania, the Company acted as the general sponsor of an international exhibition in Vilnius dedicated for one of the most famous families of statesmen and art patrons in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania – Sapiehas.
