Virtual Exhibition Opened at Kyshtym Copper-Electrolytic Plant
OREANDA-NEWS. August 7,
On the July 26 within the frames of the project a virtual tour ran on the Internet. The exhibition includes most impressive paintings covering industrial theme from the collection of Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts.
The idea of presentation of artworks via the Internet is not a brand new one. For many distinguished museums worldwide it is widely accepted to offer an opportunity to visit exhibitions virtually. This exhibition, however, is a special one. Exhibited paintings are presented not in a traditional museum interior but against impressive scenery of Kyshtym Copper-Electrolytic Plant – one of the leading plants of Russian Copper Company. Perspective sights of production shops are aged and darkened intentionally to emphasise unique atmosphere of the Soviet past. This particular effect allows to experience the difference between past and present-day world. Notwithstanding the fact that nowadays production shops look more aesthetically pleasing (look more) metallurgist’s labour is still one the most complicated jobs which require complete professionalism and ultimate organisational skills.
“We refused to demonstrate fine modern workplaces intentionally because we understand that it is impossible to capture all stages of development in a moment. The main purpose for us is to show real labour of metallurgists as they play the key role for metallurgy and their everyday work helps company achieve new levels of success”, - as commented by PR department of Russian Copper Company. -“The main motive of the pictures is renewal of prestige of workers and expression of their feelings - respect and pride for their profession. That should be firstly seen by spectators”.
It is important to note that the opening of virtual tour is the first experience for museums in Yekaterinburg and in the Urals as well. Each painting is provided with detailed information about painter and circumstances of its creating. In the nearest future it is planned to run English variant of virtual exhibition and version for tablet PC. Opening of multimedia exhibition project “Scheduled Heroism” is planned on August 31, while virtual tour is available at the moment.
“Scheduled Heroism” will be exhibited from August 31 till October 14, 2012 and represents industrial theme in the Ural’s artworks covering period from the first Soviet five-year plans to special-ordered paintings of the 1970-80’s.
The project will demonstrate modern glance at long-forgotten moments in the past, considering difference in painted image of a hero of labour and a real Ural worker, memory and substitution of reminiscences, bias of industrial theme in the art and sincerity of a painter of that period of time.
