OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2012. In this context, the chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry, Gheorghe Cucu, held a meeting with Representative of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Stefan Kagebein and project coordinator Volker Stozner. The sides revised the main activities aimed at backing the small and middle-scale business (IMM).

Gheorghe Cucu said that joining the EU implies that Moldova's economy, firstly the IMM sector with a key-role in Moldova, should be adjusted to the European requirements. It means a closer cooperation between the representatives of the business environment in Moldova and the economic partners from the European area, fact that includes the exchange of experience as well.
For his part, Volker Stozner said that the programme's goals focused both on the increase in efficiency of the institutions representing the IMM sector and the establishment of the economic relations between the German and Moldovan business environment. He expressed satisfaction with the project's results, pointing to the good cooperation relations between the Moldovan CCI and the German partners.

The area of the project's activity comprised the consolidation of the relations between the German and Moldovan entrepreneurs' unions, establishment of partnerships between the enterprises in the two states. Due to the support by the Eastern Committee of the German Economy and the Foundation for Economic Development and Professional Qualification (SEQUA), Moldova's CCI has organized the Moldovan-German economic forums in the country, as well as in Stuttgart, Potsdam, Frankfurt, Munchen, with the participation of economic agents from different fields. Also, Moldova participated in the exhibition "Saptamina Verde" (Green Week) in Berlin, Germany. The "single window" was also launched with the German partners' contribution.
