OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2012. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, discussed the issues of socio-economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by members of the public of Tatarstan, including Aynur Mullakhmetov, design engineer of the Scientific and Technical Center of KAMAZ, reported the press-centre of KAMAZ.

The participants of the meeting told Vladimir Putin about the situation in the industries they represented. The representative of the automotive industry Aynur Mullakhmetov said that KAMAZ was successfully developing in terms of innovation, but the facilities of the Scientific and Technical Center were not enough. "We need an engineering center with a vehicle test area to improve the quality of our products and to faster commence their production. With the most powerful center at hand, we will be able to introduce new developments within the shortest possible time. And the personnel will become much more competent. But we need state support to create an engineering center," shared his opinion the young engineer.

Rustam Minnikhanov added that the matter was that a large engineering complex would enable not only to "overtake", but to reach the world level. Besides a testing area, the project implies innovative developments and higher quality of education in engineering and technology.

Vladimir Putin said that the government had always supported KAMAZ with orders and loans. "We will certainly support this initiative, too, because the plant’s competitiveness and the progress of our automotive industry as a whole depend on how well this area is developed,” said President of Russia.
