Ukrainian PM: Extortionary Taxes Are Entirely Inappropriate
OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2012. The Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the business climate in some regions, focusing on the non-introduction of any additional "fees" at the local level for certain permits. He stated this in an interview with the domestic TV channels.
"Am I satisfied as the head of the Government with climate that we create for businesses on the fields? Here I'd like to tell you that I’m unhappy" - Mykola Azarov said, before noting many positive aspects that create a favorable investment climate in the country.
"The President set a very simple task before us: give a peace to the business, allow for 2-3 years to work safely. Tax Code, by the way, for the newly established enterprises with a turnover of not more than 3 million UAH a year and the number of employees is not more than 20 to 5 years release them from the taxation of profits" - Mykola Azarov said.
The Prime Minister said that he puts the task in front of the State Service for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship Development "to pass by himself all the way, on which are our business, and feel on my own experience, what is the pass through our permitting system."
Indeed, despite the decision of the central authorities, which are aimed at reducing the control and intervention of law enforcement agencies, local governments "invent some kind of possibilities for endless extortion from our small and medium businesses". Business is constantly faced with some local solutions, some additional payment.
Mykola Azarov is convinced that with this problem we will be able to cope, because the Government could eliminate a significant amount of license, restrictions, etc., which hampered the development of the business.
"We are moving in the right direction - said Mykola Azarov. – There is no alternative to this route, we must act more decisively and I think that we will achieve the goal that we set".
